The problem

What the customer called about

A Bixby homeowner in 74008 had a backed-up main sewer line running about 150 feet from the cleanout to the septic tank. They tried to clear it themselves with a drain blow bag, and the bag blew off inside the pipe.

Diagnosis

What our plumber found

Casey and Jared tried to pull the blow bag back out, but it got pushed farther down the line toward the septic tank. The sewer machine could not push it any farther. So we ran our sewer camera down the line, found exactly where the blow bag was sitting, and marked the spot on the ground.

The fix

How we fixed it

With the location marked, we gave the homeowner an estimate to dig up that section of sewer line and remove the blow bag. No guessing and no digging up the whole yard, just the spot the camera showed us.

Takeaway

What this means for your home

Blow bags and other DIY drain tools can make a sewer backup worse when they come loose in the line. If your main line backs up, call us first. A sewer camera shows exactly where the problem is before anyone digs.
