Water Heater Repair

Start with the leak

The flex connectors on top are a very common source of leaks, and that's an easy repair, so we don't have to do a full replacement. If it's split internally, that's when we would obviously need to replace it.

When there is no heat

If it's not heating, we'll usually get out our tester and start testing the gas control valve.

Brands we install: we install AO Smith water heaters and Navien tankless units.

Repair or replacement

If your water heater can be repaired or needs to be replaced, the technician gets paid the same.

When repair isn't the right call

A standard tank water heater typically lasts around 10 to 15 years. If yours is getting up there in age and the repair would be a full internal replacement rather than something simple like a flex connector, it's worth asking about your options — including going tankless, which runs 20 to 30 years with an annual flush by a licensed plumber.

From the owner

When we suggest replacing

  • What we suggest: plan on replacing a tank water heater around 10 to 15 years.
  • We suggest replacing sooner only with heavy rust around the top fittings where the flex connectors attach, or inside the combustion chamber.
