The short answer
Call soon. A slab leak runs all day and all night under your floor, so it keeps raising your water bill until it is found. If you see water coming up through the floor, shut the water off at the meter first, then call.
When to call right away
- Call right away: water is coming up through the floor, or a spot on the floor is hot and the meter is spinning.
- Call this week: your bill jumped and the meter check shows a leak, but you see no water.
We are open 24 hours Monday through Saturday.
How to shut off the water
Shut the water off at the meter in your front yard. That stops the leak until we get there.
What insurance usually covers
Many policies cover getting to the leak and the water damage it caused, but not the pipe itself. Check your policy. We talk with your insurance company for you.
How we fix it
A leak-location specialist pinpoints the leak with sonar, usually to within six inches. Then you choose: open the slab and fix it, or, about 75% of the time, reroute the line through the attic and leave the old line under the slab. That way nobody has to break through your floor.
